Steve organised for his friend Nick Clement and Nick’s father Geoff to come to the club night and give a talk and demonstration. Nick kindly brought along his Hangar 9, 35% Extra 260 which has a ZDZ 80 engine. The model has 2 x 25kg digital servos on each aileron, and a JR 35kg digital servo on the rudder.
Nick ran through the model setup and talked about acrobatics and flying at the shows. After he flew his foam Shockie in the hall. On behalf of the committee and club I’d like to thank Nick and Geoff for their time and for an interesting evening. If you want to see Nick flying this model go to this Youtube link
The club AGM was held on the 3rd February 2011. The committee reported on the previous year, Chas again finding the funny side of the years events. The old committee then retired …and was then re-elected with no changes.
Steve felt generous and there were three raffle prices, John Barnard won the big raffle and George won the craft drill. There was also a prize giving for 2010. Steve was presented with the club man of the year for the second year running. George won the most improved flyer. Ron was presented with The Nail Man for winning the Chuck Glider. John Evans was presented with the Presidents trophy by Don.
The Sustainability centre is holding The Hampshire Green FairĀ on Sunday 9th May and the flying field will be used to provide extra parking for visitors. It was decided that in the interests of safety that no flying would take place on this day.
Rob and George joined the club and we also had two visitors attend.
Thanks to John Evans for the evenings quiz which ended in a draw. Mick mentioned that he will bring his Lancaster to the next meeting and will be hoping to fly it at the patch on the following Sunday the 16th May.
